The Strawberry Line

The Strawberry Line is where it all started. A 9-mile long stretch of shared-access path. Mostly traffic-free and flat, it's popular with cyclists and walkers.

The Strawberry Line follows the old Cheddar Valley train line that took locally-grown strawberries to the London markets. The train line between Cheddar and Yatton was dismantled in the 1960s, but you can now enjoy the Somerset countryside, natural reserves and villages by foot or bike. Visit medieval Axbridge or take a tour of Thatchers cider.

Bike hire

Strawberry Cycles bike hire is just opposite us in Yatton station car park. You can choose from a wide range of bikes for adults and children. They also hire out adaptive cycles and trikes, as well as tandems if you fancy riding on a bicycle made for two! Strawberry Cycles will provide maps, helmets, accessories like child seats, tag-alongs and trailers. You can also pre-order a picnic for your cycle ride that we'll make fresh and pack for you.

Explore by train

Yatton station links to London and the south-west. Weston-Super-Mare is a short train ride away for days out at the seaside. In the opposite direction, you can travel to Bristol for a bit of city culture. A bit further afield is Cardiff and the spa towns of Cheltenham and Bath. It's worth having a look at Days Out by Train for discounted train travel and entry to attractions. Don't forget to schedule breakfast at our cafe, or order takeaway lunch for your journey.
