About Us

The Strawberry Line Cafe prides itself on friendly service from our team. We employ local people from our community and offer employment and training to people with learning disabilities.

Zoe is our cafe manager, and Linda and Jayne are supervisors. Lucy and Kevin serve customers and work in the cafe.

Meet Lucy and Kevin

  • Lucy

"I have been working here since the cafe first opened. I enjoy getting here independently by public transport, getting paid and helping the guys that I work with. I like preparing food like quiches and bacon rolls. I like cake, but I like making cake -- I'm not into cake because I'm trying to be healthy, but I do like flapjack."

    Lucy's favourite cake: marble cake

  • Kevin

"I've been working here for quite a while now -- I'm one of the granddads of the cafe! It's been really good, and I've really enjoyed it. I've come a long way since I started. It's upped my confidence as well because I'm slightly autistic. I have good interaction with the customers. I sometimes do the food and take it over to them, which I was a bit unsure about at first."

    Kevin's favourite cake: Lemon drizzle
