Two special events – short film launch with Radio Bristol and “Strawberry Lines” book launch Sat 20th April

We are very pleased to inform you of a couple of special events taking place at the Cafe on the above date and hope that you may be able to join us for part of the day.
SHORT FILM LAUNCH: we are very fortunate to have secured funding from the Severnside Rail Partnership, to make a short promotional film about the Cafe. It was filmed in the lead up to Christmas and shows the Cafe at work on a typically busy day and features our staff, volunteers, trustees and of course several customers. Following the launch it will be available to view online on a variety of platforms, including our website. We hope to show the film, which is under 5 minutes long, on a screen on the hour and half hour between 10am and 2pm.     Radio Bristol will be broadcasting live from the Cafe at 10.20-10.30.
‘STRAWBERRY LINES’ BOOK LAUNCH: The Yatton Library Writers Group have recently published a selection of short stories inspired by the Cafe and one of the contributors Lybda Hotchkiss, will be with us from 1pm. To quote the official description:
“When a group of enthusiastic amateur and published authors meet in a café for coffee and critiques of their latest work, they are usually looking for new ideas. When the café in question is a charitable concern about to celebrate its 10th anniversary, it became a no-brainer. So, they wrote about trains, waiting rooms, stations, cafes and journeys, put them all together and created a book to be sold to benefit the Strawberry Line Café on Yatton Station, Somerset, and to entertain anybody who likes reading wherever they like to read original work.”
We hope to have one or two of the authors present and we may be able to tempt them to do a reading if time (and space) allows. We hope to have a few copies on sale at £4.99. which includes a small donation to the Cafe.
To cap off a busy week-end it is the opening day of the Cycle Hire, the first day of their new season,
